Being the "Perfectionist" that I am,
(Drives Me NUTS Sometimes,but I can't help it ! LOL !)
I always strive
to do my
very best
to capture the life like qualities of
the Beautiful Birds
that visit My home each day
during Summer,
and then
translate those details
into the Wood !
I take great pains and pleasure
to add feather details,
lifelike Eyes
and whenever possible,
legs and feet when appropriate.
Most all of My Wooden Birdsculptures
are
"In Flight".
With their wings outstretched , appearing Ready to
" Fly off, right into Your life~! "
All of My birds are LifeSized, and Life Like
as I can possibly make them
and
All are posed
and
mounted onto a
blended natural and handmade setting.
Once I'm satisfied
with the Sculpture, I paint & finish
each when appropriate, with Acrylics,
&
3 coats of Polyurethane.
Each Sculpture is inconspicuously
Hand signed and Dated.
Every piece includes a
"Certificate of Authenticity"
Which includes a value statement
for Your insurance records.

Born of this very Pine Log.
Just before last Holloween,
I was comissioned by a lovely couple,
who asked Me
to create a "Memorial Gift" from the tree which
was planted by His best friends Mother
when they were just School kids.
I milled this log section
into usable lumber,
and
transformed it into this
Beautiful Wooden Dove by Hand.
(seen below)
My customer specifically asked me not to paint it,
in order to allow the Natural Woodgrain to remain visible,
and finish it in a High gloss, "glass like" finish.
My customer ALWAYS
gets what they want !!!
